Open your Excel documentBegin by opening your Excel document. You can do this either by double-clicking the document's icon or accessing it through the File menu. Upon opening, you will see a blank grid with numbered rows and lettered columns.
Navigate to the Insert tabOnce your document is open, head to the "Insert" tab located at the top of the screen. This action will unveil a new menu containing various options for your document. Next, click on the "Header & Footer" option.
Access the Page Number optionUpon opening the Header & Footer menu, you'll find a range of header and footer options. One of these choices is "Page Number." Click on this option to access the page number menu.
Specify your page number locationAfter clicking on the "Page Number" option, a menu with different page number locations will appear. You can opt for your page number to appear in the header, footer, or page margins. For this tutorial, we'll choose the "Header" option.
Select your page number styleOnce you've chosen the page number location, proceed to pick a style for your page number. The menu will present various page number styles, such as numbers, letters, and Roman numerals. In this guide, we'll opt for the "1, 2, 3" style.
Insert your page numberWith your page number style selected, click the "Insert" button to add your page number to the document. Your page number will now be visible in the document's header.
Save your documentAfter inserting the page numbers, remember to save your document. This can be done by clicking on the "File" menu and selecting "Save As." Assign a name to your document and click the "Save" button.
