#### Using the AVERAGE Function

- Select the cells you want to average.
- Click the Formulas tab on the ribbon.
- In the Function Library group, click the AVERAGE function.
- Excel will insert the AVERAGE function into the cell with the syntax
**=AVERAGE(number1,number2,...)**. - Enter the numbers or click the cells you want to include in the average.
- Press Enter to calculate the average.

#### Using the SUM Function

- Select the cells you want to average.
- Click the Formulas tab on the ribbon.
- In the Function Library group, click the SUM function.
- Excel will insert the SUM function into the cell with the syntax
**=SUM(number1,number2,...)**. - Enter the numbers or click the cells you want to include in the sum.
- Press Enter to calculate the sum.
- To get the average, use the COUNT function to count the number of cells.
- Select the cell containing the sum.
- Click the Formulas tab on the ribbon.
- In the Function Library group, click the COUNT function.
- Excel will insert the COUNT function into the cell with the syntax
**=COUNT(number1,number2,...)**. - Enter the numbers or click the cells you want to count.
- Press Enter to calculate the count.
- Finally, to get the average, divide the sum by the count.
- Click the Formulas tab on the ribbon.
- In the Function Library group, click the DIVIDE function.
- Excel will insert the DIVIDE function into the cell with the syntax
**=DIVIDE(number1,number2)**. - In the first parentheses, type the cell containing the sum.
- In the second parentheses, type the cell containing the count.
- Press Enter to calculate the average.

#### Using the AutoSum Button

- Select the cells you want to average.
- Click the Home tab on the ribbon.
- In the Editing group, click the AutoSum button.
- Excel will insert the SUM function into the cell.
- Enter the numbers or click the cells you want to include in the sum.
- Press Enter to calculate the sum.
- To get the average, use the COUNT function to count the number of cells.
- Select the cell containing the sum.
- Click the Formulas tab on the ribbon.
