How to Enter Data Within a Cell in Excel

In Microsoft Excel, a cell serves as the basic unit for entering and storing data. Each cell is uniquely identified by a combination of its column letter and row number (e.g., "A1").

Entering Data

  1. Click on the Cell: To enter data in a cell, click on the specific cell where you want to input information.
  2. Type Data: Type the desired data directly into the cell.
  3. Press Enter: Once you've entered the data, press the "Enter" key on your keyboard.

Note: The entered data will now be displayed in the cell.

Editing Data

  1. Click on the Cell: To edit data in a cell, click on the cell containing the data you want to change.
  2. Make Changes: Modify the data within the cell as needed.
  3. Press Enter: After making changes, press the "Enter" key to save the edits.

Note: The cell will now reflect the updated data.

Deleting Data
