How to Make a Pie Chart in Excel: Step-by-Step Guide

Making a pie chart in Microsoft Excel is easy!

Open Excel:

First, open Microsoft Excel on your computer. If you don't have Excel, you can download a free trial from Microsoft's website.

Enter Your Data into Excel:

Next, enter your data into Excel. If you want to create a pie chart of the data in cells A1 to A4, you would enter that data like this:

A1: Category 1

A2: 10

A3: Category 2

A4: 20

Select the Data You Want to Include in Your Pie Chart:

Once your data is entered into Excel, select the data you want to include in your pie chart. To do this, click on the cell in the upper-left corner of your data (A1 in our example), then hold down the "Shift" key and click on the cell in the lower-right corner of your data (A4 in our example). This will select all of the cells in between those two cells.

Click the "Insert" Tab:

Now that your data is selected, click on the "Insert" tab at the top of Excel.

Click "Pie":

Under the "Charts" section, click on the "Pie" button.

Select the Type of Pie Chart You Want to Create:

A new window will pop up with different types of pie charts. Select the type of pie chart you want to create and click "OK."

Your Pie Chart Will Appear:

Now you have a beautiful pie chart that you can use to visualize your data!
