Find and Finish Documents in Drafts

Find and Finish Documents in Drafts

Use Drafts in Finofo to complete unfinished documents, follow items in approval and correct rejected documents.

At a glance

Drafts holds documents that were started but not finished, documents in approval and documents that were rejected.

Open Drafts, choose a tab and click a document name to continue where it stopped.

How It Works

Drafts has four tabs, each with a count: All, Uncompleted, In Approval and Rejected. A new purchase order starts as a draft, and POs waiting for sign-off are listed on In Approval.

When the unrecognized-vendor setting is on, Finofo still reads invoices from vendors it cannot identify, then holds them here until someone names the vendor. They are then read with that vendor's settings, so new suppliers are not delayed.

Complete a Draft

1. Open Drafts.

2. Choose a tab: All, Uncompleted, In Approval or Rejected.

3. Find the document with Search by name or vendor....

4. Click the document name to open its create or edit screen.

5. Complete the missing details and continue, for example with Submit for approval.

Cancel an Approval or Delete a Draft

1. Open the ... menu at the end of the row.

2. Choose Cancel approval or Delete.

Tips

  • Clear the Rejected tab first; those documents are blocking payment.
  • Name the vendor promptly on unrecognized invoices so their due dates are not missed.
  • Use View to add or hide columns such as Doc type, Total amount and Last updated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is an invoice in Drafts instead of Invoices?

It was saved as a draft, or it was read without a recognized vendor and is waiting for someone to name it.

Why are purchase orders on the In Approval tab?

They are new purchase orders waiting for sign-off.

Can I delete a draft?

Yes. Open the ... menu on its row and choose Delete.
